Paintball Accesories

You cannot safely play paintball if you do not have the proper paintball accessories. There are not a lot of accessories needed in order to be able to play, but it is important that you have at least a few. Some of the items you will need include:

• Marker – The marker (or gun) is obviously the most recognizable accessory needed to play paintball. This is the device you use in order to shoot members of the opposing teams. Paintball markers typically shoot paintballs at speeds of around 200 mph. Because these balls are shot out of the markers so quickly, there are other paintball accessories that are also needed.

• Goggles – One of the main paintball accessories that is needed to protect yourself from paintballs are masks and goggles. These goggles and masks are used to protect your head and eyes from the speedy paintballs after they have been shot. The masks and goggles are very durable and can easily stand up to being hit by paintballs. To clean them, all you need to do is wash them off with water.

• Knee and elbow pads – If you are one of those players who plans to do a lot of diving behind trees, it is likely that you will want to get some knee and elbow pads to give yourself a little extra cushion for your landings. These paintball accessories are fairly inexpensive and do not need to be specially purchased. You can use the same pads for paintball that you would use to play basketball or volleyball.

• Shoes – Even though there are not really “paintball shoes,” there are definitely shoes that are more effective to wear while playing paintball than other shoes. For example, wearing tennis shoes or basketball shoes is probably not a good idea because there is very little traction included on the soles of these shoes. The better shoes to buy are those that are cleated or those that have a lot of traction. Soccer cleats and football cleats are among some of the most popular shoes for paintball enthusiasts to wear. Others wear hiking boots and this footwear seems to suit them just fine.

These are the main paintball accessories that you might want to have to start off with. As you get more into the game of paintball, you may want to look into purchasing more accessories.
