Paintball guns

Before you start to go out and shoot paintball guns (also called “markers”), it would be wise to get a little bit of an understanding about how these guns work. If you are able to ascertain this understanding, chances are that you will be more successful and less likely to be hurt.

Paintball guns are almost always semi-automatic. This means that the guns will fire each time that you pull the trigger. These guns are most often powered by CO2 cylinders. These cylinders are powerful and are able to provide close to around 1,000 shots before they run out.

Most paintball markers themselves are able to hold around 200 paintballs at a time. Most paintball guns are able to shoot around 2-3 paintballs per second. There are some guns that are capable of shooting up to 300 paintballs per minute.

Paintball markers are not super heavy, but you can definitely feel them in your hand. Most of these guns weigh between four and five pounds. They are very similar in size to air rifles and BB guns.

When handling them, you should use the same amount of care that you would use if you were handling a real gun. Even though they are typically not lethal, they can be if a person is shot at close range in the eye or head. Therefore, it is very important to be careful.

Understanding these things about paintball guns will help you be safer and more successful at playing paintball.
